MODESTY PART2: A PRACTICAL APPROACH

Who ever said being modest doesn’t look good?  Decency is attractive and respectful. I realize that the world will say God sees your heart and not your outfit which is true to some level, but as the Bible people read do you want them to misinterpret Christ?  I can go on about why modesty in our attire is important but let us look at it practically.

Modesty is not just a process and a lifestyle but it’s also a choice! When the Holy Spirit brought me to that understanding, I took immediate action. I had to get rid of half of my closet to attain modesty. I felt more comfortable and at peace with myself. I’m not saying you should go get the longest skirt in the world or cover yourself from head to toe but be cautious of how you display your body as the TEMPLE OF GOD.

My approach to modesty

  • Recognising and adjusting: Understanding one’s spiritual, social and cultural background is key to dressing modestly.
  • Clothes with Self-worth: Wearing modest attire demonstrates respect for both oneself and others.
  • Comfort and Confidence: Being modest doesn’t have to mean sacrificing creativity or comfort. It’s all about dressing in a way that makes you feel confident and reflects your values.

Allowing the Holy Spirit guide and lead you in the choices you make regarding what to wear.
